There is a set of ancient gambling where a major principle of game is the victory of the senior combination of cards. It is difficult enough to tell what was among them the ancestor of Poker. Among primogenitors of Poker it is possible to name the Persian gambling, French, and German. In Germany there is ancient game Pochen. Probably, from it has received the name Poker. At the same time the Frenchmen, who a long time played the game under name Poque, challenge parental rights on Poker of Germans. In present appearance Poker was born in New Orleans (the USA) in the beginning of 19-th century. This game was considered as the roguish, specially invented by shapers, who cheated passengers of the numerous courts going upwards and downwards across Mississippi. And the bases of modern Poker have been incorporated at the end of 19th century. Since that time Poker is considered to be the national gambling of Americans.
